Seeking Executive Director of Development!

Executive Director plans, organizes, and implements economic development activities including industry recruitment, retention and expansion; grant writing/administration for infrastructure development; overall management of an industrial park; and supervising the Administrative Assistant and Water Superintendent. The Executive Director is responsible for preparing and overseeing financial records in compliance with state regulatory requirements. The Executive Director works closely with local, regional, and state economic development partners, and applicable utility and government officials.#

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

●Work collaboratively with prospects, consultants, various statewide economic development organizations, and other agencies related to a myriad of economic development issues

●Supports initiatives to expand/enhance existing industries and workforce development

●Work with partners to develop sufficient infrastructure to support future development

●Coordinates release of detailed information to new/existing businesses contemplating relocation and/or expansion

●Organizes economic, market, and demographic data for dissemination

●Participates in the negotiation, preparation, and processing of documents/agreements as required

●Responds to requests for proposals/qualifications

●Ensures compliance with open records and other government compliance requirements

●Manages website/online presence

●Manages the budget and other multi-million-dollar assets

●Strong knowledge of industrial development/site selection process

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required, preferably in Business, Finance, Marketing, Public Administration, or Economics. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Any combination of education and experience providing knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to succeed in the position is acceptable. A minimum of five years’ experience in progressively senior, full-time economic/business development positions in either the public or private sector is preferred. CEcD, PCED, EDFP, or other professional economic development certification(s) is desirable. Candidates with relevant experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. Experience working in rural and/or under-served communities and/or workforce development initiatives is a plus.

Salary $55K-110K DOE!

Requires residence in area upon acceptance or soon thereafter. Relocation assistance available.
