JSPS Virtual Staff Meeting
JSPS held a "staff meeting" this morning via Zoom! It was so good to see (most) everyone and check in. There are several still working in the office, some working from home and the rest...enjoying some much needed time off! We hope you and yours are doing well and will all be ready to get back to work soon! We are here for you and happy to help in any way that we can.
Still working, still serving...
We are still working and still serving in many ways. While part of us work from home and a few still at the office, we are doing what we can to serve our community businesses, citizens and home-bound.
Orders are still coming in and yes, some clients have had to put some of theirs on hold but we still have plenty to go around! We are adjusting nicely and continuing to be very cautious for our staff and applicants that we are scheduling appointments for. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times which are trying to every one of us. We continue to pray for our community, applicants, businesses and the world to overcome this battle and know, even though there will be great losses, there will also be a lot of good things to come from this.
Marissa and her sweet boys (along with a friend) continue to deliver Meals on Wheels to the home-bound in Bossier City. What a wonderful opportunity and time to share with her teenagers.
Reaching applicants has stretched us in ways we needed to go and make changes that we didn't think we were ready to make but, hey, it's working out...at least we hope so!
Families are getting quality time together that they may not have had otherwise and it's forced us to all stop and realize what's really important in life.
We pray each of you are able to "stop and smell the flowers" of life and what a precious gift it is and that when all of this is over, you'll have better relationships all the way around. YOU MATTER!
Celebration among the Chaos!
We held a small celebration today among all the chaos going on in the world! We are so very thankful for our employees and want to let them know we appreciate them. This month, we celebrate Julie Vines and Karen Baronette who are turning another year wiser. If you see them out and about, give them an elbow bump and wish them happy birthday!
(Pictured here with Colton, Julie's sweet young man!)
Congratulations are in order for a few businesses that our Thelma & Louise visited with yesterday.
The Prometric Testing Center moved from Viking Drive to BPCC and held a ribbon cutting yesterday. If you're looking for a location to take a national test, they've got you covered!
Just down the road and on the over side of the river, Coldwell Banker Gosslee celebrated their 60th Anniversary with two ribbon cuttings yesterday. Congratulations Jimmy, Brad and the entire Gosslee team!
It's Alicia's Birthday this month, our only February birthday! Her treat of choice...Sonic Drinks! Stay thirsty friends and Happy Birthday Alicia!
Monday is President's Day!
Monday is President's Day and although it's a federal holiday, we'll be open as usual! Take advantage of being off (if you're one of the lucky ones) and come see us. It may just be the perfect day to do it, especially since we have over 180 open positions between our Shreveport and Longview offices! We are accepting walk-ins between 9a-2p. Bring 2 forms of ID's (Acceptable Documents) and your resume.
PS: In case you didn't get the message...this is opportunity knocking!
Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day to show support for the efforts of the American Heart Association. We are planning to wear red with our jeans and will be posting pictures and invite you to do the same! Let us see how you GO RED tomorrow!
There's always so much to do this time of year and our Cathy and Beth are the ones to do it. Last week, "Thelma and Louise" attended the NLEP Annual Banquet and got all the details on Economic Development of 2019 and what's expected this year to come! If you want to be in the know, hang out with these two and you'll go places!
